These terms and conditions are to protect the welfare of your dog, the rights of yourself as the client and myself as the groomer. All clients are required to complete and sign our terms and conditions.
Your data is confidential and will not be shared with any third party.
Please inform us of any changes to your personal data or your dog’s health so that we can update our records accordingly.
Please be punctual. I work be appointments only and a no show is lost income. I offer a free appointment reminder by text. Most grooms take between 2-4 hours. I will phone you to tell you when your dog is ready to collect. Please phone me if you are running late. Late collections may incur an extra charge.
Clients running more than 30 minutes late for the start of their appointment can be considered a missed appointment and may have to rebook and incur a charge of the full groom.
Please give 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel your dog’s appointment. The slot can then be offered to other clients.
Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may result in a cancellation fee of £15.
Your dog’s health and welfare are paramount when they are in my care. If your dog becomes uncomfortable or stressed with any of the procedures during their groom, I will use an alternative approach. If I need to stop the groom, I will always discuss this with you.
If you fail to disclose any information about any new or existing allergies and/or skin conditions Perranpaws will not be held responsible for any irritation, abrasions or hair loss that may arise due to the grooming process.
If you do not disclose details of new or existing medical conditions or injuries prior to grooming Perranpaws will not be liable for any injury incurred during the grooming process.
If a pre-existing condition is discovered during a groom, I will notify you of this and advise you to seek veterinary advice.
Accidents are extremely unlikely but can happen during grooming. If a minor injury occurs first aid will be given and discussed with you on collection. In the event of an accident or serious medical issue arising during the groom you authorise Perranpaws to seek emergency veterinary treatment. Any fees will be payable by the dog’s owner.
If you feel that your dog has been injured in any way during the groom you must seek veterinary attention within 24 hours and supply Perranpaws with a full veterinary report in writing. This will be passed to our insurer to assess any liability.
I will always put your dog’s welfare first at Perranpaws. A lack of regular grooming can lead to clumps of matted hair that can be uncomfortable and painful. I will always attempt to de-matt a coat as long as the dog is not suffering. I abide by The Animal Welfare Act 2006 and will only attempt to de-matt a coat for a maximum of 15 minutes.
When a dog’s coat is in a severely matted condition, I will clip off the coat because it is much quicker and kinder. If a complete clip off is required, then I will endeavour to contact you first. If I cannot contact you, then I will take photographs and proceed with the clip off on welfare grounds. An additional charge will be incurred which will vary on extra time taken.
I reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog that I deem too severely matted to safely carry out a complete clip off.
Any dog found to have a flea infestation will be given suitable treatment charged at an extra £10. This covers the treatment cost and additional time to deep clean the salon.
Full disclosure of behavioural problems must be given at booking so that I can plan for your dog’s groom. Muzzles may be used unless you have specifically requested otherwise. I reserve the right to stop the groom of any dog that shows aggression and is deemed a danger to itself or others according to The Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. The full starting price of the groom will be charged.
Prices quoted are based on grooming a well-behaved dog in good condition. If your dog’s behaviour or condition adds excessive time this will be charged accordingly.
On collection I will give feedback. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect, please let me know and reasonable requests to alter the trim will be dealt with before you leave or will be noted on your record card for your next appointment. If you have any queries or would like advice about caring for your dog’s coat, please ask me.
All client’s details will be held securely in accordance with GDPR regulations.
Your dog may be photographed and used on our website, social media and promotional material. If you would prefer for photographs of your dog not to be used please tell me on booking.
